Office communicator contact card not updating
Sometimes we will find that even we changed user's properties in AD such as department, title, phone number etc., it's contact card still remain old info seen by other users.Recently I also faced several issues from my customers and I would like post a collected summary here for this scenario. One of these is published by Office Communications Server when the data is from Active Directory.Others are published by Office Communicator when the presentity signs in, and they can be from in-band provisioning, the Address Book Service file, or user input. You’ve just deployed Office Communications Server 2007 R2, and you have migrated a user account successfully or created a new account. You sign in for the first time and you see a red exclamation point on the Office Communicator icon in the notification area.(Optional) After client side Gal files regenerated, we can double cofirm if the department, title, phone number etc. Use some tool such as Ultra Edit, open the Gal Contacts.db, search the department, title, phone number etc.to see if it is the new value or old value for this user.
Author: Greg Anthony Publication date: December 2009 Product version: Office Communicator 2007 R2 You’ve just deployed Office Communications Server 2007 R2 as part of your migration from Live Communications Server 2005 SP1 or Office Communications Server 2007, and you have migrated a user account successfully or created a new account.
What the error means is that there is a Communicator policy entry for Abs Inside URL that specifies the address of the Global Address Book server to use when signing in, and it is not a secure URL that matches the https scheme.
Administrators can specify a URL in the form of file://servername/addressbooksharename, but they must also configure the Communicator policy Enable Sip High Security Mode to have a value of 2 or 0 to change Communicator’s behavior to allow download from non https URLs.
When Communicator client access the contact card, it will retrieve the title info from Static Publications, which is aggregated by OCS server.
For the details, when a user subscribes to a presentity’s presence, the user can receive multiple instances of the presentity’s contact card.
