I have the following code: private void txt Folder_Validating(object sender, System. Cancel Event Args e) When I execute the form and the field is empty, the error Provider's Icon goes on. tkmsftngp02 Xref: cpmsftngxa08 microsoft.public.dotnet.languages.csharp:55494 X-Tomcat-NG: microsoft.public.dotnet.languages.csharp Hi, I'm trying to use the error Provider control with Causes Validation property and I think I'm missing something somewhere...It seems wrong to add that amount of code to do what the property should do when false: do not cause validation!Philippe Bdard, MCSD, MCT Sent via Developersdex Don't just participate in USENET..rewarded for it!

When the component is added in the designer, the Container Control property is set to the containing form; if you add the control in code, you must set it yourself.Super Validator can work with any of these components set or without any of them at all if you are planning to report validation results some other way.Next step is to choose the way Super Validator performs validation.I see the message boxes "before" and "after" but the form doesn't close... Isn't exactly for the Cancel button (which closes the form) that the Causes Validation is for?I tried your code, but it seems to bypass controls inside Group Boxes.

  1. Pinot Grizzly – Maybe : Sounds playful with subtle word play; indicates that this user likes wine and has that Northwest-scruffy vibe (you know, like a bit too much stuff from Filson and a few days’ of stubble). : Could possibly signify “bear,” which is a slang term in the gay community for guys who are a bit hairier/less effeminate.
